Our school produces a show annually, show casing the technique and performance of dedication from the pupils. You will be amazed at not only their physical ability and growth but also their discipline, confidence and team work ethic.
Our second opportunity is our annual musical performance
Our third is participation in Owen McVeigh charity show with other colleagues' dance schools from Runcorn. This is a wonderful experience and not only gives the children chance to perform away from their own area but see other dance schools perform and make many new friends.
In February 2018 our pupils took part in UK dance class championships. These are based upon the competitors learning a short piece (in age groups of up to 70 children) and performing it to the best of their ability with no practice, help or costumes - all competitors wear black. They then are chosen into a semi final and then into a final. Charisma Cunningham and Aurora Cunningham were chosen for their semi finals (down to max 20) and then Tarun Dhaliwal reached the final of 16-17 ballet (approx 12 dancers) and gained 6th place. We love these comps!
Charisma, Aurora, Lily, Charlie, Sarah have both been awarded recently (in the last year) 2nd and 3rd places in large competitions where they perform solos pre-choreographed, rehearsed and dance creatively to a specific piece of music in tap, ballet, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre and commercial dance.
We have had many pupils over the last 10 years win medals, trophies, with groups, duets, trios, in all dance subjects in competitions in Liverpool, Manchester, Ellesmere Port, Wrexham, Blackburn and Preston.
We have excellent examination results where 80% of the students have obtained distinction, 90% gained over 70 marks!
On 3rd September 2015 two senior students took part in a show to raise money for the Alzeimher's Society hosted, organised and choreographed by Chloe Waggett, our ex pupil who is now studying her degree course at Birds Theatre Arts!
On 8th of November 2015 we performed again for Roy Castle lung caner appeal and after had a bouncy castle, cakes, face painting, disco, raffle and more. It was a fantastic evening and the children performed beautifully and we all had a heap of fun!
Pupils have also had an exciting time performing in fund raisers for the local film "Womble" which stars Tom Spencer our teacher (Letitia Spencer's) brother, letitia also stars in the film along side Jimmy Cricket, Johnny Vegas & Bruce Jones (Les Battersby). Some of our pupils also have small parts in the film which is shortly being wrapped up so watch out for it in local cinemas!
